Welcome to your digital classroom. Email me: hennessyhistory@gmail.com
I've organized this website to be the digital hub of our classroom. Each class has their own page where you find topics of study, assignments and other interesting tidbits. On those individual pages, you will find information to keep up-to-date on all classroom activities. This is a resource for you - so use it as a study guide and as a tool for becoming a more successful student. And check it frequently: it's a work in progress so the information, links and resources will be continually updated.
I have two goals for my students: for you to learn history and for you to "learn to learn." Although I love history - and hope to share that excitement with you - the second goal is really more important. Once you learn to learn, you can go anywhere and do anything. In this rapid-fire, fast-changing world, that is an excellent skill to have.
I'm looking forward to another exciting and challenging year at GAMP. I want to teach you, learn from you and explore our fascinating and complex world together. I can think of no better way to start this new school year than with this quote from President Obama's recent address to American students:
"Where you are right now doesn’t have to determine where you’ll end up. No one’s written your destiny for you. Here in America, you write your own destiny. You make your own future."
